Who is your muse?
They say 'never work with animals and children' It's (almost) impossible to get a still shot or a perfect pose. As a lover of photography my muses are my dogs and my super cute nephew. For me, what makes working with animals and children so exciting, is you never really know what you are going to achieve - you can make plans, and have a shot composition in mind, but at the end of the day you get what they want to give you!
Take last week, I shot around 130 images of my nephew playing - he would not stay still for a second making the session (to be polite) 'a challenge'. Almost giving up hope of capturing the perfect shot, everyone went back inside, just me, my sister and my nephew remained outside. Then he sat down (albeit in front of a UPVC door) and we got it - the perfect shot! Yes it required some Photoshop work, but it just goes to show that with a little perseverance (and patience) working with animals and children is fantastically rewarding in the end!
